SPCA and GCN’s golf day a wonderful success

Golf day a huge success.

There was much fun, laughter and serious play at the Germiston SPCA’s annual golf day, on Friday.

This year the Germiston City News was the media partner for the event.

Golfers flocked to the Glendower Golf Club in Bedfordview, and enjoyed themselves out on the immaculate course.

The sun was shining and everyone had a fun-filled day – even if their golfing skills weren’t at their best.

During the course of the event the GCN had a special “photo booth” at which players could have a memorable photograph taken of their four-balls, and this raised an additional R2 800 for the SPCA.

Local businesses and individuals came to the party and the players walked away with wonderful prizes to round off their day.

The winning four-ball comprised of C du Plessis, C Hings, K Hings and C Pinheiro.

The happy winner of the raffle prize, sponsored by Emperors Palace, a one-night stay at the five- star Peermont D’Oreale Hotel, sponsored by Emperors Palace, was Selwyn Urquhart, while the winner of the beautiful Morganster raffle hamper was Brett Segell.

At the time of going to press, the total amount raised had not yet been finalised.
