WO André de Jager, communications officer for the Germiston Cluster SAPS has confirmed that the police are busy with investigations after a suspected armed robbery in Belhambra Road, Primrose East, on Tuesday evening.
“The incident took place at about 8.15pm,” he said.
“From what we understand the woman and her daughter were approached by two men while parked in front of the gate in the driveway.
“Both women were shot in the upper body.”
A neighbour who came to assist was also shot three times in the upper body.
All three were transported to hospital and the older woman died due to her injuries.
Her daughter is still in a critical condition and the male neighbour is in a stable condition.
Cases of murder and attempted murder have been opened.
“The Primrose SAPS will continue to investigate to shed more light on exactly what happened,” De Jager said.
More information will be communicated as soon as the police make it available.
