Have you experienced the scheduled load shedding?

Many of Ekurhuleni’s residents are set to experience a number of power outages over the next week.

This is due to power utility Eskom implementing stage two load shedding due to the loss of 1 800MW at its Majuba Power Station, after damage to a central coal storage silo on Saturday.

It is reported that the silo, which houses over 10 000 tons of coal, cracked and collapsed impacting coal supplies to all six units at the power station.

This has resulted in the power station operating at reduced a capacity of 1 300MW.

Eskom said on its website that it will conduct load shedding for the rest of the week.
