The Germiston City News has been receiving calls from disgruntled residents throughout Germiston.
The main areas that seem to be affected by the water outage are Albemarle, Dinwiddie and Lambton.
Some people have had no water since Monday, while others have been waterless since Wednesday.
The GCN has since approached the metro for comment, but are yet to receive an official statement.
We will post updates as we have them.

Quite disgusted in Ekurhuleni, I stay in Albemarle and we are still without water, ever since Monday now. I have logged numerous calls to no avail. Have been holding on at call center for 3 hours now, still no operator taking my call.

I see most comments below are negative so I want to make a positive one. What I hope is that the issue is only a technical or mechanical one! Any technical issue can be repaired. The worst thing would be if water started to become scarce in South Africa due to drought or other natural phenomena… South Africans have forgotten the terrible 1983 draught… Nothing is worse for a society than the threat of scarcity of water! That’s why people should not be nagging too much, as the issue here isn’t shortage but just a mechanical fault in the pumps… South Africans love to complain…
If you know you cannot supply certain areas with water. Let people know how long and when there will be no water so that they can plan around it. Most people opened their taps to find theres no water. There was no warning so that alternative planning could be done Thats what is unacceptable damn it.we still dont know what the hell is going on.

We stay at 99 Hatfield Ave and we’ve been without water for 3 days so far.No water tanks have come to our area to supply us with water.

I don’t believe any of this. You are all mistaken. The signs on the poles in Refinery Road boast about the quality of the water supplied by Ekurhuleni. If you found worms in the water you you have or don’t have any, just take a ride along Refinery road and look at the posters, then you will see that you DO in fact have a wonderful, clean water supply. You are all just imagining the problem, but, then again, so am I.
I’m resident of Cruywagen Park Klippoortje Germiston, water pressure is so low, in possible to shower!

No water in Sunnyridge Saturday September 20. Phoned the Call Centre and was told that the problem is that the whole of Ekurhuleni is short of water because Rand Water has not delivered water this month!!! They now have to ration the water and we will all only get water for a short while every day until the problem has been resolved!!!! Unbelievable! This country just goes from bad to worse!
No water in Primrose since Saturday , how are we suppose to do washing, cooking etc with no water , also hasn’t seen any water tankers in the area .So the
metro just assume everybody can pop into the local supermarket and buy water, people are on tight budgets already

We have not had water since Saturday 20 since 9a.m. and electricity on and off all week end. My concern is what is going to happen at the schools. I was told we are not going to have water for 4 days.
We can not believe that water can be disrupted in this manner.
In the 1980’s when we had a major water shortage and the dams were 20% full we never ran out of water?????
The dams are more than 80% full yet we are told to use water sparingly.
Who is giving this advice and are they following it, the infastructre has crumbled and there is no MAINTENANCE and if you do not maintain you pay…..
Short cut repairs are costing because the muncipality has not followed procedure and spent the money elsewhere.
We spent a weekend without electricity and no water, welcome to the year 2014 and ahead it is clearly getting worse.
Before bonuses are paid out check the running costs to maintain, nobody working today get’s bonuses as there is no money, the people should adhere to this

Not having water is s serious health hazard
or do they not realise this.
Secondly we must use water sparingly, but travelling into Germiston past the squatter camps the water was gushing out into the street as we must us water sparingly while the muncipality does not repair pipe leakages
all over. You report damaged pipes with water running and it takes weeks to repair???
Everyone is complaining about the water that we don’t have in primrose. But no one thanks the people supplying us so that we get water. Yes is a mess not getting it out of the tap but I thank them I can make food drink water and clean dishes.
I would like to comment on Jackie’s statement “Jackie as Taxpayer’s we only want a fair deal!!! You are saying that “everyone is complaining” I would like to see you say thanks to a store if you buy bread and sour milk, return the milk to the store and they tell you that there is an exchange only policy, out of stock and you must return in 2 weeks. We as citizen’s of South Africa paye Tax that goes towards salary’s and service delivery!
