Leak is frustrating residents of Tedstoneville

Metro claims they give priority to the most serious leaks.

The Germiston City News recently received a call from an enraged resident of Tedstoneville.

The man, who wishes to remain unnamed, reported a serious water leak.

He claimed the leak, located at the corner of Valk Street and Swaan Street, in Tedstoneville, has been causing problems in the area for five months now.

He has reported the matter to the metro several times, but has received no help.

The GCN sent an urgent email to the metro to try to establish:

  • When the leak will be fixed?
  • What is causing the leak?
  •  Where residents can/should report such situations so that the problems can be fixed?

Lebogang Ramashala, of the metro’s department of communication and brand management, responded with the following statement:

“The leak at the mentioned address is from an isolating valve.

“Due to the volume of calls, we are, unfortunately, unable to attend to all the leaks at once, but we will be attending to the complaint as soon as possible.

“We are giving priority to the most serious leaks.”
