Police talk about bullying

Report incidents of bullying.

The Primrose police, together with members of the Primrose SAPS Youth Desk, recently visited Laerskool Die President, to tackle the serious issue of bullying.

“The school is experiencing challenges with regard to bullying from pupils, some as young as six years old,” said Sgt Styles Maome, the communications officer for the Primrose SAPS.

“Some of the pupils are even bullying the teachers.”

The Youth Desk members presented an educational drama about bullying, before Maome spoke to the children, telling them that what can start as bullying can end up as something serious, like murder.

“Children should refrain from this type of behaviour and report all incidents of bullying to either their teachers or to their parents,” he said.
