Ekurhuleni’s executive mayor, Clr Mondli Gungubele, has demanded the truth about what really happened to Curburne van Wyk (3).
He was speaking to the community of Reiger Park at the memorial service of the little boy on Thursday afternoon.
Cuburne’s alleged murderer was nabbed in Piercy Avenue, Lambton, at about 4pm on Wednesday.
Gungubele called everyone to unite as humans, and not as political parties, to fight this absurd criminality, saying humanity must precede political membership.
Gungubele said no amount of speech can stop this scourge but only a united people with a shared vision of a criminal free society can.
He further commended the community for their restraint amid these acts of vicious crime against children while encouraging the police to continue working hard.
