Stop-and-search operations lead to 49 arrests

Primrose police arrest 49 in one week.

The Primrose police arrested 49 suspects during the week of July 28 to August 3, in connection with various crimes in the area.

These are:

  • Assault with intention to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH): 6
  • Drunk and driving: 4
  • Drunk in public: 13
  • Trespassing: 1
  • Reckless and negligent driving: 1
  • Armed robbery: 5
  • Housebreaking with the intent to steal: 1
  • Section 11: 1
  • Perjury: 1
  • Murder: 1
  • Warrant of arrest: 1
  • Bribery: 2
  • Soliciting/importuning of sexual immorality: 1
  • Dealing in liquor without a licence: 4
  • Shoplifting: 1
  • Illegal immigrants: 6

These arrested were achieved through stop-and-search and other operations conducted in the area.

The station commander, Col Mduduzi Khuzwayo, and the management of the station thank all who contributed to the success of the station, especially the Metro Police, who are trying to clean Primrose of drunk drivers and make the area a safer place to be.
