Primrose police arrested a suspect for raping a six-year-old girl

Man nabbed for rape of a minor.

Primrose police recently arrested a 32-year-old suspect for raping a six-year-old child in the Makause informal settlement.

This happened after a teacher laid a charge with the police, after she was informed, by children in her class, that the victim’s trousers were full of blood.

She realised that something was wrong and called the victim to the office.

When questioned by the teacher, however, the victim did not answer or say what was wrong.

A member of the school governing body intervened, but also couldn’t find answers.

The principal then arrived and took the child to her office, where she calmed and interviewed her.

The child then admitted that her uncle waited for her mother to leave for work and then raped her.

The victim alleged that her uncle closed her mouth with his hand, raped her and told her not to tell anyone.

It is also alleged that the following morning the suspect gave the victim a sweet and repeated that she shouldn’t tell anyone about their “secret”.

The suspect was traced and arrested.

“We appeal to the community to look after their children and not to trust anyone, best friend or not,” said the communications officer of the Primrose SAPS, Sgt Styles Maome.

The suspect appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where the hearing was postponed for plea and trial.

The suspect remains in custody.
