Man pretends to be police officer and robs man

Pretending to be a cop, a man commits armed robbery.

On Monday, June 9, Primrose police arrested a 25-year-old man for armed robbery.

The arrest was made when the victim of the crime visited the Primrose Police Station, to open a formal case against the accused.

He explained to officers that he had been walking in Zenia Road when he was approached by the man, who claimed to be an officer from the Kempton Park SAPS.

He asked to search the man.

Feeling uneasy the man asked to see the “officer’s” identification documents.

At this the accused became angry, pulled out a handgun and ordered the man onto the floor.

He then searched the victim and took R600.

Officers were able to find the suspect through an undercover operation and he was arrested.

He appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court where his case was postponed for trial.

  1. Did the poor victim get his money back or did the other police take it as “evidence”?

Just asking cos there is nothing in the article to indicate that he did get the money back and it would be grossly unfair if the victim wasn’t refunded.
