Help desperate animals by playing golf

Dust off your golf clubs and help the SPCA.

This year, the Germiston City News is the proud media partner of the Germiston/Bedfordview SPCA’s annual golf day.

The fun-filled event is set to take place on Friday, November 7, at the Glendower Golf Club, from 11am.

In order to make this an extra special fund-raising event we need the help of the community.

We are in need of players, sponsors for holes and donations of prizes.

The competition takes the form of a Four-ball Alliance Stableford, with two scores to count.

Therefore, donations of prizes need to come in groups of four.

All sponsors will be acknowledged in the GCN and at the event.

Some prize ideas, include golf-related items, drinking flasks, car cleaning kits, Cadac gas cylinders, umbrellas, braai sets, tog bags, hampers, bottles of wine, golf shirts, golf towels, shavers, watches, etc.

There will also be a raffle on the day and prizes for this will also be greatly appreciated.

You are also welcome to make a monetary donation.

Players are also needed for the event, so get out your golf clubs, call your friends and come and spend a fun-filled day with us.

The cost per four-ball is R2 000 and this includes your green fees and a light supper at the prize-giving.

Should you wish to sponsor a hole or green for the day, the cost thereof is R1 500 per green or hole.

Only two watering holes are allowed on the day, one on each nine.

You can come along set up your banners and plan some fun for the players.
