Man arrested for gate motor theft

Man found in Senator Road with gate motors.

While on a routine patrol in Senator Road, officers arrested a 44-year-old man on charges of theft.

The arrest was made when the officers noticed two men walking down the road carrying heavy bags.

As they approached, the two men noticed them, dropped the bags and ran in different directions.

Officers gave chase and were able to corner one of the men.

The officers collected the discarded bags and transported them and the man to the Primrose Police Station, for questioning.

In the bags, officers found gate motors.

When asked where the motors had come, from the man could not give a clear explanation.

He was formally charged with theft, and later appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court.

His case has been postponed for trial.
