Free prostate checks

Local doctor offers free prostate checks to men without medical aid in celebration of Men's Health Month.

The GCN recently ran a story about prostate cancer (May 30).

As June is Men’s Health Month, Dr Marek Borkowski, with the permission of the management at the Life Roseacres Clinic, will be offering free prostate examinations to members of the public, who are not on medical aid.

He has also arranged with Lancet Laboratories for the first 15 patients he sees to receive their PSA (prostate-specific antigen) blood test for free.

Borkowski will see patients on June 15, between noon and 3pm, as well as on July 15, 16 and 18.

Unfortunately, if you are not one of the first 15 patients, you will have to pay for your PSA blood test, but the consultation by Borkowski will be free.

For more information, or to book your appointment, call 011 822-6096 or 011 842-7672.

When booking your appointment for those specific days, state that you are not on medical aid and are booking for the free service.
