CPF warns the community

Become active in the fight against crime.

The Primrose CPF has issued the following alerts.

Please take note of these problems and take preventative action.

Be on the lookout for a white Citi Golf (registration number unknown), and a black Nissan Nivana (registration number unknown).

These vehicles are allegedly used by armed men who are involved in hijackings in the area.

They speak English and act very professionally.

In the past few months there have been a number of vehicles stolen in the Primrose area.

A lot of these vehicles were left parked on pavements.

Wendy Morgan from the CPF said, “The SAPS members request that residents put their vehicles inside their properties.

“They get sworn at and told ‘we have insurance’.

“The police are just trying to do their jobs by protecting us as the community, and not encouraging criminals into the area for easy pickings – please try at all times to park your vehicles inside.”

People must be careful all along Main Reef and Pretoria roads, at all the traffic lights.

Do not leave any valuables, bags, laptops or cellphones lying on your car seat — this is what the smash-and-grabbers are looking for.

Morgan added: “As a CPF we are trying to get more of the community involved in keeping the streets safe and the residents aware of what is going on.

“We are looking for street leaders in each street — someone who is prepared to get to know everyone in the street where they live – get their information and start a “WhatsApp” group or email group to send out information.”

If you are prepared to be a street leader contact Kobus van Rensburg on 083 776 5896 or Morgan on 072 963 9675 to discuss how to get the project up and running in your street.
