Task team conduct undercover operation

Undercover operation a success.

Members of the Germiston cluster task team mounted a successful operation, recently.

The officers were able to arrest five men on charges of possession of dagga and dealing in drugs.

The arrests were made in the Marathon informal settlement, when officers, dressed in civilian clothing, came across a man who was smoking dagga.

The officers convinced him to show them where he had bought the dagga.

They were able to arrest the first man they had met on a charge of possession of dagga, while the second was arrested on charges of dagga possession and dealing in drugs, when a large amount of dagga was found in his home.

Officers also made a further three arrests.

All five suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court.

One was released after he paid an admission of guilt fine; the four remaining suspects’ cases were postponed for trial.
