Robbery in Marathon informal settlement

Man robbed by two men.

A 39-year-old man was arrested in the Marathon informal settlement, on Tuesday, May 20, and charged with common robbery.

Officers were first alerted to the incident when the victim came into the Primrose Police Station to report the robbery.

He explained that he was busy moving into a new home when two men approached him.

One of the men held him still and covered his eyes, while the other searched his pockets.

The men took the victim’s wallet, which contained R2 800.

Officers launched an investigation and were able to trace and arrest one of the men.

They are still searching for the second robber.
