Couple attacked in their home

Night time attack on couple.

An Elsburg couple has been attacked and robbed in their home.

Louise (58) and Roger (53) Human were accosted in their du Plessis Street home on May 7, at about 8.15pm.

Louise told the GCN that she is unsure how the four men, armed with 9mm pistols, had entered the house.

“We are not sure if our daughter, Lolly (20), left the front door open when she left the house for a brief period 10 minutes before the attack, or if they managed to open the door themselves,” she said.

“The robbers covered me with a blanket and pushed my husband around a bit, but thank God they did not hurt us.”

The men then ransacked the house, taking everything, even the meat out of the freezer.

Louise added that the thugs told them they were not taking their car, as it was too old.

“I am really glad that my daughter was delayed at her appointment and didn’t walk back in when the men were there,” Louise said.

“We want to warn the community to be careful.”

Louise added that she thanked God that they were alive, as goods are replaceable but lives not.
