Follow these tips to help you stay safe

The Elsburg SAPS have issued the following tips to try and avoid all types of robbery, from aggravating robbery with a weapon to common robbery:

•  Avoid carrying large sums of money.

•  Avoid deserted areas late at night.

•  Look around for any suspicious people or motor vehicles and run for safety.

•  Always close and lock your windows while driving at night.

•  Before opening gates and doors at home ensure that you are not followed.

•  Have police emergency numbers on your cellphone.

•  Avoid showing off money in shebeens and in the public.

•  Avoid unnecessary arguments and aggression which could result in injury or death.
