Youngsters help safe haven

Doing their bit for the community.

Scouts and Cubs from the First Lambton Scout Group, in conjunction with Pick n Pay Hazelpark, held a successful community project, last Saturday.

The members collected groceries and other items for the Green Door Safe Haven, in Elsburg.

The First Lambton Scouts were proud to hand over the goods they had collected to the Green Door Safe Haven, in Elsburg.

The group started collecting at 8am and finished at 1pm, by which time they had more than two trolleys full of food, milk, toiletries and cleaning products.

This was handed over to Green Door ambassador Doreen Harding, at the safe haven.

According to Doreen, the Green Door does do not receive assistance from government and is totally reliant on the public, church groups and groups like the First Lambton Scouts for assistance and donations.

The First Lambton Scout Group held a successful charity drive outside Pick n Pay Hazelpark, last Saturday. Back: Harry Cubitt (Pack Scouter). Part of both the Scout and Cub law reads: “To do a Good Turn to Somebody” and Pack Scouter Harry Cubitt feels this was definitely portrayed by this project.
