A 27-year-old woman was arrested by the Primrose SAPS last Tuesday, on a charge of soliciting for the purpose of sexual immorality.
She was nabbed in Beaconsfield Avenue.
“Our police were patrolling the area when they noticed the woman exposing herself in an immoral and indecent way to passing motorists,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose SAPS.
“They observed the woman for a while and then arrested her.”
She was taken to the Primrose Police Station pending her appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.
The court released her with a warning.
“We, as police, are trying our level best to get the prostitutes off our streets, but they keep on coming back after they are released by the court,” said Maome.
“We encourage men to stop buying sex, and this will help the prostitutes vanish from our streets.”
