Altercation leads to arrest

Man held in contempt of court.

The Primrose police recently arrested a 41-year-old man on charges on contempt of court.

The arrest was made after the accused had an altercation with his wife.

The couple is currently going through divorce proceedings, and started arguing when the husband blocked the driveway to the couple’s home with his car.

His actions made it impossible for his wife to leave home to fetch their children from school.

When she approached him to ask him to move his vehicle he demanded that she give him the keys to the house.

This demand was in direct violation of the court order the couple had agreed to.

The court order stated that the husband would stay in a small room on the property, while his wife and children remained in the house.

“With this in mind, the woman refused to give the man the keys to the house and this is when he began to grab and shove the victim, trying to get the key from her,” said communications officer for the Primrose police Sgt Styles Maome.

Officers were called to the scene, where the man was arrested.
