During a recent stop-and-search operation, in Main Reef Road, the EMPD arrested a 42-year-old man for driving under the influence of liquor, and reckless and negligent driving.
The arrest was made when officers noticed someone driving his vehicle recklessly.
The vehicle was pulled over, and the driver was asked to exit it.
The driver attempted to climb out of the vehicle, but was unable to, as he was so drunk that he struggled to stand.
The man was arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station.
“We will continue to work together with other law enforcement agencies to ensure that the crime in Primrose is stamped out,” said communications officer Sgt Styles Maome.
The suspect appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for trail.
