Be careful in your home

Keep a watch for suspicious activity in your area.

With regard to the article “Couple robbed in the wee hours” (GCN, February 7), community members had the following to say on our website www.germistoncitynews.co.za:

One commented that they were sure it was the same men who had robbed a house opposite to them in Chestnut Road.

The robbery also took place in the early hours of a Thursday morning and the three men took out the big window in the lounge of the house to gain access.

Another person said that there are two men scouting the houses in and around her street.

One is quite short, with a dark complexion, and wore black clothing, while the other is of medium height and was wearing a Springbok rugby shirt.

“He has been seen peeping over walls, walking away and then coming back again, on two occasions,” she said.

“They sit opposite your house and then come over to your gate and ask for a lighter or something of that nature.”

She added that the men had been seen in Deodar Road and Elberfield Avenue, in Primrose, just a few streets from Chestnut Road and Belhambra Street.

“Be very careful,” she said.
