Man arrested two years after murder

Man arrested after two years of investigation.

The Primrose police recently arrested a 49-year-old man suspected of committing a murder two years ago.

The arrest was made after two years of investigation by dedicated detectives.

The victim’s son told officers that his father had been having drinks with friends and family on the evening of the alleged murder.

The victim got a little out of hand when he was drunk, reportedly swearing at friends and family members alike.

When he announced he was going to bed, his son-in-law followed him and confronted him.

The son-in-law allegedly punched the victim, causing him to fall to the floor and hit his head.

Due to the injuries to his head he was taken to a local hospital, where he received treatment and was released.

The following morning, when his partner tried to wake him, he would not respond.

Paramedics were called to the house, where they declared the victim dead.

It took two years of careful investigation for the detectives to make the recent arrest.

The suspect appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed in order for him to enter his plea.
