Man faces domestic violence charges

Man arrested for domestic violence.

The Primrose police recently arrested a 26-year-old man on charges of domestic violence and common assault.

The arrest was made when officers, on patrol along Pretoria Road, noticed a man sleeping at the side of the road.

The man appeared drunk, so the officers decided to take him to the Primrose Police Station.

Upon their arrival, they found the man’s wife opening a case of assault against him.

The victim explained what had happened to the officers and the man was arrested.

“We appeal to our community to know that crime does not pay,” said Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“For any challenges the community may face, there are people who will help them.”

The accused appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for trial.
