The Primrose police recently arrested a 25-year-old man in Stanley Road for common robbery and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The arrest was made after officers received a report from a man.

The complainant explained to the officers that he had been walking to work when he was approached by two men.

The man recognised one of the men as his former neighbour.

The men greeted the victim and asked him where he was going and began to roughly search him.

They two took R140 from the victim before hitting him in the face with their fists and a brick.

Detectives launched an investigation and were able to find and arrest one of the two men responsible for the attack and robbery.

The suspect appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for trial.
