Domestic violence awareness campaign launched.

The Primrose police recently launched a domestic violence awareness campaign that will continue after the 16 Days of Activism Against Women and Children has passed.

The launch was attended by speakers from various organisations including the department of social development, the EMPD and the department of community safety.

“The Primrose Police Station serves three informal settlements, where domestic violence is a major problem,” said Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Guest speaker Kgomotso Moeng spoke to the community about child neglect and child abuse and the serious consequences of these crimes.

Members of the Youth Crime Prevention Desk were on hand to entertain the guest speakers and community members who attended the launch.

“The management of the Primrose Police Station thank everyone one who made this launch such a success, this includes our sponsors, Instrumental Transformer Technology, Chubby Chums and Chain Pack.

“We hope that our message will reach the relevant ears,” said acting station commander Lueit-Col Frans Lepadima.
