Primrose SAPS celebrates launch

New Crime Prevention Youth Desk structure launched.

The Primrose SAPS celebrated the launch of a new Crime Prevention Youth Desk structure, last Saturday.

The launch took place at Primrose Primary School and was attended by Crime Prevention Youth Desk members, community members and members of the Primrose SAPS.

This Crime Prevention Youth Desk will continue to help the police to fight crime, with special focus on crimes that are committed by the youth.

The members will mobilise with other young people in the three sectors to form sub-structures in each sector.

Among the visitors celebrating the launch was former communications officer for the Primrose police, Lieut William Masondo, who still resides in Sector Three.

Lieut-Col Frans Lepadima, Vispol commander, encouraged the members of the Crime Prevention Youth Desk by explaining that they are the eyes and ears of the police.

Lepadima said: “It may happen that some people will dislike you, but you must remember that your intention is to see a crime-free Primrose.”

Members of the Crime Prevention Youth Desk entertained the community members and SAPS personnel with poetry, sketches, music and drama.
