Man discovered with stolen motor vehicle

Police nab alleged car thief.

Members of the Germiston SAPS arrested a man last Monday, for being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

The vehicle was discovered in a stop-and-search operation, in Charley Street, Germiston.

The 52-year-old man alleged that he bought the car from a friend, but it had been reported as stolen at the Alberton Police Station.

The suspect was detained at the Germiston Police Station.

“The management of the Germiston SAPS congratulate Const Emmanuel Maake, Const Dumisani Mdabula and Const Sandile Mbatha for the good work,” said police spokesman WO AndrĂ© de Jager.

“The constables also arrested another suspect, earlier in the same week, in connection with yet another motor vehicle, which had been reported stolen at the Brixton Police Station.”
