Youth arrested for housebreaking and theft

After a house was broken into recently, the police arrested a young man for the crime.

A young man, aged 19, has been arrested by the Primrose SAPS on charges of housebreaking and theft.

He was arrested on November 8, after a house in Magnolia Road was broken into while the owner was out visiting his son.

When the man’s security company called him to tell him there was a break-in at his house, he rushed home and contacted the police.

After hearing the complaint on the radio, police officers patrolling in the area kept a sharp look-out and spotted a man fitting the description of the house robber.

They stopped him and took him to the Primrose Police Station for questioning, where it was established that he was indeed the suspect they were looking for.

The complainant suffered losses amounting to R15 000.

The man is due to appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
