I live in Primrose, not far from the informal settlement in Main Reef Road.

My fellow Primrose residents and I are growing increasingly concerned about the black smoke billowing from the informal settlement on the Primrose Gold Mine property, and near the mine dumps.

This smoke has been getting progressively worse.

It is obvious that tyres and cable are being burnt for the metal.

This is occurring every day and the law enforcers are not enforcing the law.

The air pollution is a health risk, at times it fills the air like a thick fog.

Can the authorities not see it?

Ekurhuleni must deliver on their promise of a healthy environment, which includes clean air.

We take pride in keeping our area clean and maintained.

I plead with the metro, enforce the law to keep our air clean.
