Alleged rapist nabbed

Man arrested for alleged rape.

The Primrose police recently arrested a 29-year-old man in the Makause informal settlement, on a charge of rape.

The arrest was made after the victim came to the Primrose Police Station and laid a charge of rape against the man.

She claimed that she had been at her home with her baby and boyfriend, when her boyfriend demanded that they have sex.

The victim said no, as she had given birth to her baby only two weeks earlier and was not ready to have sex.

It is alleged that the accused ignored this, pushed her onto a bed and had sex with her by force.

He then left the home.

“A while later, it is alleged, the man returned to the home and demanded sex again,” said Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose SAPS.

“Again the victim refused, she was then assaulted and forced to have sex with the man a second time.

“It was after this second attack that the victim reported the incident to the police.”

Detectives travelled to the victim’s home, where they found the accused.

He was arrested and transported to the Primrose Police Station, where he will be detained pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.

Maome appealed to the community, saying: “Do not force yourself onto your partner. When she says no, respect her decision, irrespective of her being your partner or wife.”
