Man arrested for cheque fraud

Man attempts to cash fraudulent cheque at local bank.

Primrose police recently arrested a 33-year-old man, who is accused of trying to cash a fraudulent cheque.

While on patrol in the Primrose area, the police officers received a complaint that a man was attempting to cash a fraudulent cheque at a bank in Rietfontein Road.

The officers rushed to the scene and found the suspect was, indeed, in possession of a fraudulent cheque.

He was immediately arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station.

Const Styles Maome, the communications officer for the Primrose SAPS, hopes that arrests like this will send a message to other would-be criminals and ultimately curb crime in the area.
