Busted with dagga at the taxi rank

Germiston SAPS make a dagga bust.

A 29-year-old man was arrested for possession of dagga, at the Germiston Taxi Rank, near the Germiston Railway Station, recently.

Members of the Germiston SAPS had a stop-and-search operation in the area, during which two constables stopped a man carrying a big sports bag.

“They opened the bag and found sealed packets of dagga,” said WO André de Jager, communications officer for the Germiston SAPS.

“After the officers interrogated the man, he agreed to show the police where more dagga was hidden.”

The man took the officers to Makause informal settlement, in Primrose. “More ready packed and sealed bags of dagga were found in a house in Makause,” added de Jager.

The man was arrested and detained in the Germiston Police Station holding cells.

De Jager said the dagga that was confiscated weighed 59,14kg.

Consts Andrew Ngoveni and Noko Ramagoshi were congratulated for their good police work.

The man will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court, soon.
