Man nabbed for assault GBH

A man was arrested in the Makause informal settlement for assault GBH.

A 48-year-old man was arrested by the Primrose SAPS, recently, for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was arrested in the Makause informal settlement, after the complainant alleged that she was at her home sitting at the fire with her family and neighbours, when another neighbour came over and started swearing at her, accusing her of stealing firewood.

“The complainant told the accused that she did not steal the wood and he left,” said Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose SAPS.

“A few minutes later, it is alleged, he returned, accompanied by four men she did not know.”

“The accused and the other men started to hit the group at the fire with beer bottles and the complainant sustained injuries to her head and left hand.”

The Primrose SAPS detectives followed up leads and the man was arrested.

He appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, and his case was remanded for trial.
