House robbery in Elsburg

House robbers easily gain access to house.

Two women and a man were supposedly viewing a house in Elsburg recently, when they robbed the owner and stole his property.

WO André de Jager, communications officer for the Germiston SAPS, informed the GCN that the three posed as potential property buyers to gain access to the house.

“The owner allowed them to have a look at the house and, while they were going through it, they asked if it had a safe and if they could have a look at it,” said de Jager.

“The owner allegedly showed them his safe and, moments later, they produced a firearm and pointed it at the owner and other people who were inside the house.

“All the victims were then tied up.

“The robbers ran off with Kruger Rands worth R1-million, two firearms, two Blackberry cellphones, bank cards and R5 200 in cash,” said de Jager.

No shots were fired and the police are still looking for the robbers.

“The Germiston SAPS want to warn the public to be on the lookout for people using this modus operandi to gain access to property,” said de Jager.
