DA media liaison Angela Barnes, said the party will be asking probing questions of MMC for Community Safety Clr Mthuthuzile Siboza, concerning an accident involving an expensive EMPD vehicle, which crashed into a Homestead resident’s property, recently.
“An EMPD officer driving a BMW crashed through the perimeter wall of the house,” added Barnes.
“Whatever the cause, a full investigation was needed and for the report to be made public,” said DA caucus leader Shelley Loe.
“Residents in the area, who are alleging that this car is regularly seen driving fast and furiously along this stretch of road, are asked to stem their anger during the investigation.”
No comment was received from the EMPD, although the GCN requested a response.
Loe assured residents that she would not allow the metro to duck questions, as the vehicle in question belonged to the ratepayers.
