Get to know the Soccer World Cup 2014 Group E

The Soccer World Cup 2014 is currently being hosted in Brazil. Here's a look at Group E top players:

Group E

Switzerland: Xherdan Shaqiri

The forward’s creativity will be key if the Swiss will have any chance of progressing past their group. Linked with a move to Anfield this summer, should the Bayern Munich man produce the goods in Brazil, not only will the Swiss progress but noise around the Liverpool link will only get louder.

Ecuador: Antonio Valencia

The United wide-man was in-and-out of the starting XI under David Moyes in a season many associated with the club would rather forget. With France being the outright favourites to top the group, Valencia’s powerful runs and inviting crosses from the right flank could come in handy for Ecuador. With Honduras and Switzerland making up the group, the runners-up spot is wide open for the taking.

France: Karim Benzema

The French #9 continued his goal-scoring form when he created two and scored two in an impressive demonstration of attacking football in Les Bleus’ final World Cup warm-up match, an 8-0 thrashing of Jamaica.

With Frank Ribery ruled out of the tournament, more focus will be on the Real Madrid man to take Les Bleus to the business-end of the tournament.

Honduras: Carlos Costly
