Local dancers dance up a storm

Diana Moore Dance World hosts successful competition.

Dancers from around the country took to the floor, last weekend, in the Supreme Dancer of the Year competition.

The competition, hosted by Diana Moore Dance World, took place at Carnival City and saw many local dancers showcasing their talent.

Over 800 entries were received in the various categories.

Andrijke van Tonder (9) did well at the competition.

She competed in the Rising Star (aged eight to nine) section and out of 33 contestants came second in the freestyle slow category and third in the freestyle solo category.

She is trained by Ashleigh Moore at Diana Moore Dance World.

Scarlett Schutte (7) and Andrijke then excelled in the couples section in the 11 and under category and took first place.

This was the first time the duo competed in this section.

Scarlett also trains at Diana Moore Dance World.

Lambton dancer Tatijana Ignjatov, competed in both the freestyle and slow dance, 9 and under championship section at the Supreme Dancer of the Year competition.

She excelled for the third year in a row and came out tops in both categories.

Tatijana also won the Juvenile Champion of Champions section for the third year in a row.

Her trainer, David Jones was delighted with her performance.

Tatijana’s sister Vesna enjoyed competing in the competition.

She placed second in both the freestyle and slow dance 11 and under sections.

Vesna also placed fourth in the final of the Juvenile Champion of Champions section.

She is trained by David Jones.
