Station commander for the Primrose Police Station, Col Mduduzi Khuzwayo, thanked the EMPD for the successful operation the officers recently held in Primrose.
“Members of the EMPD flooded Primrose in the recent operation, with positive results,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
During the operation, 20 suspects were arrested, five were charged with dealing in and the possession of drugs and 15 illegal immigrants were arrested.
The partnership between Primrose police and the EMPD is set to continue with more operations planned for the future.
The accused will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon, while the illegal immigrants will be sent to the Lindela Repatriation Centre in Krugersdorp for deportation.
