Nigerian couple nabbed for possession of dagga

Two arrested for drug possession after community identifies alleged ‘drug house’.

A complaint attended to by the EMPD Germiston Crime Prevention Task Team members on Thursday morning uncovered dagga and other unspecified drugs at a house.

The raid took place at 10.20am and officers arrested a couple at the house.

The EMPD received information that a house in Crown Street was being frequented by shady-looking individuals on a daily basis and this prompted a raid of the house.

A search of the house produced dagga and substances suspected to be illicit.

The dagga confiscated is worth approximately R1 000.

The identity of the other substance is still to be determined.

The 43-year-old man and the 28-year-old woman who were arrested were charged with possession of dagga at the Germiston Police Station.
