Great football action at Hattingh Park

Luso Africa FC’s seniors take the lead.

Hattingh Park played host to Luso Africa FC’s two senior fixtures on Saturday.

Luso’s first and second sides went up against Uniao FC.

The first team’s match was filled with skill and tact from both sides which had the soccer fans applauding and whistling for the players.

Things got more interesting when Luso’s striker, Isiah ‘Kanu’ Mkwanazi, scored a goal.

The victory was short lived as Uniao equalised just before the end of the first half.

Mkwanazi struck again in the second half extending the local boys’ lead.

The second goal motivated the local boys and had them take full dominance of the game.

A one goal lead was seemingly not enough for Mkwanazi as he extended their lead once again and bagged a third goal.

Mkwanazi’s hat trick rattled Uniao who reverted to full on defense.

The match ended in a 3-1 score in favour of Luso.

“This was a well-played game, our boys played with passion and put out their best today,” said Luso Africa’s senior sides’ manager, George Poulos.

“Our opponents also played a great game, we appreciate the great sportsmanship displayed by the players.”

The second team played before the first team and they paved the way for a winning streak way when they won 2-1.

Brandon Hendricks and Ricky Deabreu were the second side’s goal scorers for the day.

“The second team also made us proud as they displayed great football skills,” said Poulos.

“This Saturday we are playing an away game against Alberton FC.”
