Man arrested after allegedly stealing drilling machine

Man arrested for Gerdview housebreaking.

A Gerdview home owner recently returned home to find his house had been broken into.

The complainant explained to officers that he had left his home at 3pm and returned three hours later.

When he arrived he discovered that his front door lock had been broken and, upon further inspection, he found that a drilling machine worth R1 000 had been taken.

“The victim told officers on the scene that only the drilling machine had been taken,” explained communications officer for the Primrose police Sgt Styles Maome.

Dedicated detectives from the Primrose Police Station followed several leads that led to the arrest of a 25-year-old man.

The man was charged with housebreaking and theft and will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
