Sunnyridge family held at gunpoint

Robbers fire shots at police during escape.

A Sunnyridge family was held up at gunpoint in their Northridge Avenue home, on Friday.

Communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome, explained that three men allegedly entered the home and held the family at gunpoint while they loaded items, such as plasma TV sets into the family’s vehicle.

“As the accused made their escape in an Audi A4, a Primrose police patrol vehicle arrived on the scene,” he said.

“The suspects fired several shots at the patrol vehicle, hitting the rear of itthe vehicle, before speeding off,” Maome said.

”The men, who made off with goods to an estimated value of R98 000, are still at large.”

The Primrose police are investigating a case of armed robbery.
