Alleged business robbers arrested

Two arrested for Buhle Park business robbery.

The Elsburg SAPS recently arrested two alleged business robbers.

The business robbery took place at a construction site in Nitrogen Street, Buhle Park Phase Four, at 9.30pm on July 11.

“The security officer employed by the construction company alleged that he was on duty when he suddenly saw two men approaching him inside the site,” said Constable Daphney Phooko, the communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS.

“The men grabbed him and tied him up using wire.

“One of the robbers was identified by the security officer on duty as an employee of the company and he was allegedly still wearing a company uniform.”

The two men loaded a roller stamper and a water pump onto the back of their white Kia truck and left the scene.

The company’s security and reaction teams were summoned to assist.

“They searched Buhle Park for the truck and eventually found it in Sweet Water Street, without the roller stamper and the pump,” said Const Phooko.

“The 36-year-old driver was found in the truck. He was arrested and detained at the Elsburg Police Station.

“Through further investigations, the other suspect, aged 35, was traced, arrested and also detained at the station.
