Primrose beauty is a finalist

Nishana Sannydav will celebrate women's month in style.

Primrose’s sassy Nishana Sannydav (36) will join other contestants at the Mrs India South Africa pageant, on August 15, at the Sibaya Casino and Entertainment World, in Durban.

Sannydav will vie for the crown against 14 other finalists.

“The application process included an application form and writing a motivational letter, which I did a few months ago,” explained Sannydav.

“The submission of the required documents was followed by a telephonic interview.

“A few days later I received a call from Anusha Bisaal, CEO of the organisation, telling me that I am one of the finalists.”

“I couldn’t believe it when I first got the news; I haven’t modelled since I got married in 2002.

“I used to be a model before I got married and now I have another opportunity to do what I love and am passionate about.

“Among other pageants, I took part in Miss India South Africa in 2001, where I was crowned the first runner-up.”

Sannydav told the GCN that this national pageant is aimed at married women.

“This is a true stepping stone for married women, it gives us a chance to be young again,” she said.

“This just goes to show that we have a lot to give as married women, we can still reach our goals and dreams; there are a lot of opportunities out there and we have to reach out and grab them.

“Others might feel marriage is a dead end, I would like to re-assure them that it is not true.

“All women are beautiful and we need to embrace that.”

Sannydav said the pageant will have three segments; western wear, three-minute talent and eastern wear.

“I have two of my outfits ready for the two segments and I am going to bless them with a classic, hip-hop and jazz routine in the talent segment,” she explained.

“I am very happy, as I will be representing Germiston and Gauteng.

“I have my jewellery, shoes, routine and everything ready for the pageant and, on the plus side, the event is in August, Women’s Month, and this will be another great way to celebrate it, in style.

“I have strong family support from my husband, Sachin Kisson, and my son, Kyle Kisson; it is motivating to have your loved ones routing for you.

“Thank you to everybody supporting me.”

Sannydav also said she has a quote that motivates her in life.

“Don’t look back, the only time you can look back is to see how far you have come and how much you have achieved,” she concluded.
