A 23-year-old security guard from the Primrose Gold Mine, recently handed himself over to police following the death of a 24-year old man.
The man’s body was found near the mine, on July 8, with a gun-shot wound to his upper body.
During the preliminary investigation, another security guard from the mine informed officers on the scene that his colleague had told him that he had fired a warning shot while patrolling in the early hours of the morning.
Officers asked the guard to contact his colleague and ask him to come back to work to discuss what had happened.
After a lengthy discussion with his supervisors, about the shooting, the accused handed himself over to the police.
The suspect was charged with murder and detained at the Primrose Police Station; he will appear in court soon.
