EMPD officers became suspicious when they noticed a 28-year-old man acting strangely while they were on patrol in Rietfontein Road, Primrose, recently.
The officers approached the man and asked to search him.
During the search officers found a small plastic bag containing a white powder believed to be drugs.
They arrested the suspect for possession of drugs and transported him to the Primrose Police Station.
“As police we encourage the community to get involved in the fight against drugs,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“Together we can make Primrose a drug free area.”
The accused has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
