The Elsburg SAPS is warning the community to be alert at all times as criminals are currently using the following modus operandi. “The suspects appear to be asking for a lift (hitchhiking), or asking for transport to take items to a certain place. If you stop, they then hold you at knife/gunpoint and rob you,” said Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS.

Technicians recently investigated the cause of a power outage at the Elsburg substation while another team worked around the clock at the James Bright substation to restore power there.

Sunnyridge Primary School’s Jayde Symons (12) has been selected to be part of the South African u-18 cricket team which will fly off to Australia, in September.

In an apparent desperate attempt to avoid being late for an appointment with his mother-in-law, a 33-year-old driver, in a brand new Mercedes Benz C63 AMG, was caught doing a breakneck speed of 226km/h on the N3 highway southbound, near the Rand Airport Road off-ramp.

Social workers at the Tswelopele Frail Care Centre, in Hillbrow, are desperately searching for one of their residents. Horst Grobelyn (84), who suffers from dementia, went missing from the centre on May 8 and hasn’t been seen since.
