Planned power supply interruption for parts of Germiston

Maintenance will lead to power supply interruption.

In its continuous efforts to provide a stable and reliable electricity supply network to consumers, the metro will be carrying out maintenance work on various substations in Germiston.

In order to make way for the work, there will be a planned power supply interruption which will affect certain areas on Monday, June 15, from 7am to 5pm.

The following substations will undergo maintenance and areas surrounding these will be affected:

  • Albemarle substation: Albemarle proper and Extensions One and Two; Dinwiddie; Norton Small Farms; Union proper and all extensions.
  • Atom Road substation: Castleview proper and Extensions Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine and 10; Wadeville proper; K A L 110-IR; Wadeville Extensions One, Four, Five and Six; Dinwiddie proper and Extension Four and Estera.
  • Calcium substation: Wadeville proper; Wadeville Extensions Two and 32 and K A L 110-IR.
  • Nampak substation: Roodekop Industrial; Rondebult and Extensions One, Two, Three, 23 and 27 and Leondale.
  • Niemann Road substation: Buhle Park and surrounding areas; K A L 196-IR and Rondebult Proper.
  • Phumula substation: Phumula Township (Roodekop Extension 21); Roodekop Extensions 11 and 22 and Mapleton Extension 10.
  • Russell Road substation: Castleview and Extensions Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight and Nine; Estera; Klippoortje (Lambton); Norton Small Farms and all extensions; and Union and Extension 24.
  • Roodekop Industries substation: Roodekop Industries; Roodekop Extension 31 and Leondale.
  • Second Input substation: Bliss Chemical; Gold platting; K A L; Wadeville; Wadeville Extension Two; Wadeville Extension Three; Junction Hill and Wadeville Extension 43.

Residents are urged to treat all electrical networks and equipment as electrically live at all times.
